1. Questions about the products

What is the difference between the different ages?

The main difference between our infant formula (level 1) and the follow-on formula (level 2,3,4) is the balance of milk proteins. Both levels contain whey and casein proteins, but in different proportions. Likewise, there is an increase in iron and fillers like starch to aid in baby food weaning and to introduce solid foods in later stages. Levels marked with PRE should not be confused with food for premature babies. PRE foods do not contain starch, so you can feed your baby more food every 3 hours.

When should I switch to the next age group?

As the child grows, so do the nutrients they need. To make sure that your baby receives all the nutrients for healthy development, we warmly recommend that you select the appropriate feeding level for its age. Baby food manufacturers such as Hipp and Holle have invested many years in research in order to always guarantee the perfect nutrition for the optimal development of their baby. Please note that the differences between the later feeding stages are not so immense that a changeover on a certain date is absolutely necessary. You can continue feeding for a few weeks with a clear conscience or you can start the next feeding level earlier

Is palm oil safe for my baby?

Yes! Palm oil is one of the few vegetable oils that is naturally rich in saturated fat. Most other vegetable oils are high in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. By combining palm oil with rapeseed oil and sunflower oil, the mixture results in a good fatty acid profile that meets the nutritional requirements for infants.

What is maltodextrin and why is it commonly found in baby food?

Maltodextrin is a herbal sweetener. The main characteristic of maltodextrin is its high solubility, easy and quick digestibility and light sweetness. These properties work best in conjunction with baby food. High solubility means that the powdered baby food dissolves quickly and evenly, making it easier for the baby to drink. The use of maltodextrin in baby food is largely unproblematic and there are no known disadvantages.

I've heard a lot about the importance of DHA to my baby. But what is DHA?

DHA and ALA are omega-3 fatty acids. DHA fatty acids include fish oil, egg oil, squid oil, and krill oil. ALA fatty acids include walnuts, edible seeds, clary sage seed oil, algae oil, flaxseed oil, and hemp oil. DHA is a component for the development of brain and eye tissues. However, DHA and ALA, which are added to infant formula by most brands, are not structurally identical to the fatty acids found in breast milk. There have also been no studies that have ever proven the benefits of DHA in baby formula. However, several published studies conclude that adding DHA and ALA "had no proven benefit in terms of eyesight, cognition, or physical growth." Both breast milk and organic baby formula contain essential fatty oils for brain health.

Why does milk need to be diluted for babies?

Breast milk stands out clearly from cow's milk in terms of its mineral and protein content as well as its carbohydrate content. Cow's milk contains significantly more protein and minerals than breast milk. This excess is excreted in the baby's urine through the kidneys. Since the infant's kidney function develops slowly, excessive strain on the kidney should be prevented.
In addition, the baby has to slowly get used to the foreign protein in cow's milk.

Therefore, the initial and follow-on milk is adapted to the infant's physical conditions as far as possible by diluting it with water in a ratio of 1: 1 for the first 6 months.

Can the bottle be pre-cooked for the night in the evening?

In general, we recommend that you prepare baby food fresh. This ensures that the milk is not contaminated with germs.
If you still want to prepare the bottle beforehand, you can put it in the refrigerator after preparation (below 10 C) and store it there for a maximum of 24 hours. We recommend that you do not reheat baby food more than once.

My child is getting its first teeth- what should be considered?

The formation of the first healthy teeth form the basis for the later set of teeth. Therefore, you should pay attention to good dental care for your child right from the start. As soon as your child gets their first teeth, you can start removing the plaque with a cotton swab. A balanced diet also plays a key role in healthy teeth. Avoid acidic fruit juices that attack tooth enamel. In addition, you should never let your baby suckle the bottle continuously, as this is particularly damaging to the teeth. Make sure you eat an unsweetened, varied diet early on. Unilaterally accustoming your baby to sweet foods promotes tooth decay.

2. Questions about breastfeeding and baby food

I don't have enough milk for my baby- what can I do?

Increase your own milk production
You can first try to increase your own milk production by drinking organic still tea or a mixture of fennel, caraway, anise and nettle tea. You can also rub the breast with a lactating oil and create your baby more often.

Reconsider Your Eating Habits
If you are wondering why you are running out of milk for your baby, the next step is to reconsider your own eating habits. While breastfeeding you should eat enough foods that stimulate milk production. You should also avoid foods that reduce milk production.

After the points mentioned have been taken into account and additional feeding is still necessary, the organic starting milk can be fed. The Organic Infant Formula Pre and 1 can be fed from birth and contains lactose and another complex carbohydrate: maltodextrin, which causes satiety for a longer period of time.

What are milk-increasing foods?

- Herbal tea (fennel, anise, caraway), sloe juice, breastfeeding teas

- Still water and carrot juice

- Milk and dairy products such as yogurt, whipped cream or sour milk

- Almonds or almond milk

- Oat and barley flakes as muesli, porridge or soups

- non-bloating raw food

- natural sweeteners such as honey, apple syrup or dried fruits

Which foods should I avoid while breastfeeding?

- Coffee, black tea, cocoa and alcohol

- highly carbonated drinks

- Berries and citrus fruits

- Foods that contain a lot of acid such as pickled foods, vinegar or acidic juices

- Cabbage vegetables (except broccoli and cauliflower)

- rye

- radioactive foods such as wild berries, innards and mushrooms

How do I find out how much my baby is drinking?

Are you wondering whether your child is getting enough milk?

First, you should determine the effective amount your baby is drinking. It is important to determine how much you drink throughout the day, not just that of a meal. To determine the effective amount of water you drink, you can weigh your baby before and after the meal; the difference is the amount you drink. You can discuss this result with your midwife or a doctor.

When can I start feeding my baby porridge?

In the 4th to 6th month after birth, the infant's nutritional requirements are usually no longer covered by breast milk or by bottle-fed meals alone. Therefore, you can carefully start adding complementary foods during this time. Switching to complementary foods usually runs parallel to slow weaning. The time for this varies from child to child between 5 and 8 months. In doing so, you should pay attention to your own needs and the needs of the child.

What makes goat milk formula so special?

Goat’s milk is easily tolerated and an excellent basis for baby food, as it is formed in the goat’s udder (apocrine secretion, similar to human breast milk). Milk formed in a cow’s udder follows a merocrine secretion process. Goat’s milk contains more short and medium-chained fatty acids than cow’s milk. These are easier for the body to absorb than long chains, and therefore better digested. The fat globules in goat’s milk are smaller than those found in cow’s milk. They result in a larger total surface area, enabling enzymes to break them down better, which in turn further improves digestibility. Many people with sensitive stomachs love goat’s milk. Six of the ten essential amino acids humans require through food intake are more commonly found in goat’s milk than cow’s milk. αS1 casein (casein fraction) and β-lactoglobulin (whey protein) in particular are two proteins known to trigger allergic reactions. Goat’s milk contains considerably less αS1 casein and β-lactoglobulin than cow’s milk. Its high content of free peptides and amino acids compared to cow’s milk is especially striking. Goat’s milk is pure white, already contains full vitamin A, and hardly any provitamin A (carotene), which is what gives cow’s milk its slightly yellowish color.

If you have received a badly damaged package, you must report it to the deliverer and take a photo of the damage. Otherwise, the deliverers will refuse to provide compensation. Please do not hesitate to contact us and report the damage. We will take care of it as soon as possible.
